Asurion International Top Talent Program

“I’m leaving with more than frameworks—I’m leaving with people.”

That’s how Juan Sebastian Reyes Gomez, Senior Operations Manager in Bogotá, Colombia, described his experience after participating in Asurion’s first International Top Talent Program.

Asurion's International Top Talent Program combines three days of in-person learning with three virtual sessions over the following months, giving experienced leaders from Canada and Latin America time to build leadership skills, exchange ideas, and apply what they learn back on the job. For many participants, though, the biggest takeaway wasn’t a presentation or framework.

It was the opportunity to learn alongside peers who lead different teams, work in different countries, and still face many of the same leadership challenges every day.

Building stronger leaders through connection at Asurion

One of the biggest strengths of Asurion's International Top Talent Program is the opportunity to learn alongside leaders from different countries, functions, and experiences. Leaders across Asurion face difficult decisions, changing priorities, and the responsibility of helping teams navigate uncertainty. The program gave participants the chance to step outside their day-to-day work and learn from people approaching similar challenges from entirely different perspectives.

"Conversations with people leading completely different teams, in different countries, but facing the exact same challenges I do every day—that's rare, and it's valuable," Juan shared after the program.

Those conversations became one of the program's biggest strengths. Participants exchanged ideas, challenged each other's thinking, and built relationships that will continue long after the sessions end.

Leadership development at Asurion starts with self-awareness

Leadership development in Asurion's International Top Talent Program goes beyond business skills. Through assessments, discussions, and practical exercises, participants explored how different leadership styles can strengthen communication, decision-making, and collaboration.

For Maria Rolon, Senior Account Executive in San Juan, Puerto Rico, one message stood out.

"Effective leadership begins with self-awareness."

She left with practical ways to adapt how she communicates so she could build stronger trust and collaboration across teams.

For many participants, that self-reflection became just as valuable as the tools and frameworks introduced throughout the program.

Learning that continues beyond the classroom

The in-person experience is only the beginning of Asurion's International Top Talent Program.

Over the following months, participants return for three virtual sessions where they can apply what they've learned, reflect on new experiences, and continue learning together.

Rather than treating leadership development as a one-time event, the program is designed to help new ideas become everyday habits.

As participants return to their teams, they continue building on the conversations, coaching, and relationships that started during the program.

Investing in leadership growth at every stage

Asurion's International Top Talent Program reflects the company's broader commitment to continuous learning: growth doesn't stop once someone steps into a leadership role.

Across the organization, people are encouraged to continue learning, challenge their own assumptions, and expand how they think about leading others.

That investment benefits more than the individual participant. It strengthens teams, encourages collaboration across regions, and creates opportunities to share ideas that improve how Asurion serves customers around the world.

As Juan reflected after the program, he left with more than new leadership frameworks. He left with new relationships, fresh perspectives, and a stronger understanding of the kind of leader he wants to become.

At Asurion, leadership isn't a destination. It's another opportunity to keep learning.
