When Kosher Briley joined Asurion shortly after graduating from college, she didn’t know exactly where her career would take her.

Over the past 19 years, that journey has led her from the front lines as a Customer Care agent supporting mobility claims to her current role as a Legal Program Manager—working across legal, business, technology, and AI initiatives that help improve how Asurion operates.

Between those roles? Innovation. Claims. Project management. Finance systems. Retail expansion. Legal Operations.

None of it was part of a long-term plan.

What connected every step was something much simpler: a willingness to keep learning.

A career built one opportunity at a time

Kosher describes herself as naturally curious. She enjoys learning new things, asking questions, and figuring out how systems work. Looking back, that mindset shaped nearly every career move she’s made.

Early in her career, she joined Asurion’s first Innovation Lab, helping develop new processes and call scripting that supported the launch of the company’s Online Chat team. She later moved into Customer Solutions Escalation, where she became a licensed insurance professional and strengthened her analytical and decision-making skills.

A turning point came when she was nominated for an internal leadership development program, where she shadowed senior project managers, worked alongside business stakeholders, and gained her first exposure to large client-facing projects.

“The mentorship and support within the program played a critical role in shaping my path forward,” she says.

That experience opened the door to project management, where she supported large client initiatives before moving into Agile software delivery, technical project management, and back office finance systems. Each role looked different, but each one built on the skills she had developed in the last.

Learning never stops

One thing has remained constant throughout Kosher’s career: she’s always looking for the next opportunity to learn.

Over the years, she’s expanded her technical knowledge through data platforms, SharePoint, AI-powered tools, and other technologies while continuing to grow her project and program management experience.

Today, as part of the Legal Operations team, she works across regulatory initiatives, technology implementations, and AI transformation projects that support legal teams and improve business processes across Asurion.

She enjoys that no two days look the same.

“One day I might be managing invoice processes, another day I’m partnering with law firms on eBilling or improving how we use technology to work more efficiently,” she says. “I don’t get bored doing the same thing every day.”

Saying yes to the unexpected

Looking back, Kosher says some of the most meaningful moments in her career weren’t ones she planned. Some came from opportunities she actively pursued. Others happened because the business changed and she was willing to adapt.

Instead of resisting those moments, she learned to embrace them.

“Although periods of uncertainty didn’t always feel comfortable in the moment, they consistently led to meaningful growth, new skills, and expanded perspectives,” she says.

One of her favorite experiences was supporting Asurion’s expansion into retail, helping open uBreakiFix stores across the country, including the Nashville Gulch location. The experience challenged her in new ways and strengthened her resilience, adaptability, and leadership.

That willingness to keep saying yes eventually led her to Legal Operations, where she continues to build new skills while helping modernize how the legal organization works.

Finding support along the way

Kosher credits much of her growth to leaders who encouraged her curiosity instead of limiting it.

“They supported my learning itch,” she says with a laugh. “They encouraged me to attend classes, earn certifications, and keep growing my skills.”

She also found a sense of belonging through Asurion’s BEST (Black Employees Supporting Talent) Employee Resource Group, where she helped establish a local chapter and continues to stay involved today.

One of her proudest experiences through BEST was teaching a project management course at Fisk University as part of Asurion’s partnership with the university, helping more than 17 students earn their Certified Project Management certifications.

For Kosher, BEST became much more than a volunteer opportunity—it became a way to build meaningful relationships, give back to the community, and help create the same sense of belonging and connection that she experienced herself.

Through her involvement with BEST, Kosher has developed and maintained partnerships with organizations including the Urban League of Middle Tennessee, the Nashville Black Chamber of Commerce, ASPIRE, and Girls Write Nashville and other organizations. She has played a key role in organizing volunteer initiatives and community engagement opportunities that connect Asurion employees with meaningful causes, empowering them to make a positive impact throughout the greater Nashville community. Her efforts have helped strengthen Asurion’s commitment to service while creating opportunities for employees to support and uplift the communities where they live and work.

Why she stays

After more than 19 years at Asurion, Kosher says the biggest reason she stays is the people. Just as important, though, is the flexibility and support she’s received throughout different seasons of life.

As a single mother of three, she’s never felt forced to choose between her career and her family.

“Leadership has consistently reinforced a family-first mindset,” she says. “When my family faced serious health challenges, I felt genuinely supported.”

That support, combined with opportunities to keep learning and reinventing herself, is what has kept her engaged throughout her career.

“I’ve never felt like I had to stay in one place,” she says. “Asurion has always encouraged me to keep learning and growing.”

Advice for anyone considering Asurion

Kosher’s advice is simple: “Take the opportunity. You never know where it will lead you.”

She believes some of the best career moves happen when you’re willing to step outside your original plan and trust that each experience is preparing you for whatever comes next.

Her own journey is proof. A career that started in Customer Care eventually led to Innovation, Project Management, Retail Expansion, Legal Operations, and AI transformation—not because she mapped out every step, but because she stayed curious enough to keep taking the next one.
