Welcome back to our Employee Resource Group (ERG) World Tour. Buckle up, because our feature this month is the most colorful story yet. Introducing: PRIDE at Asurion.

Asurion's PRIDE ERG is built on a simple yet powerful belief - acceptance of oneself and others in the workplace. Our campaign this year, "UR Enough," emphasizes embracing individuality and self-worth in the workplace.

The PRIDE ERG operates on two key principles:

  • This is a safe place: We strive to create a safe space for all members of the community, including our allies. Our goal is to make Asurion a place where everyone feels safe and welcome, regardless of who they are or whom they love.
  • Bring your whole self to work: Once people feel safe, we encourage them to be their authentic selves. We believe in the power of personal stories and encourage our employees to share them, fostering an environment of trust and mutual respect.

The realization that many Asurion employees needed someone to confide in led to the birth of "Pride Pals" - a proactive space to discuss questions and experiences, like the importance of pronouns.
Over the years, our PRIDE ERG has grown and evolved. Last year's focus was on recruiting within the community, hosting mixers, and other activities. This year, we've been working on strengthening the bonds amongst our members and allies, with initiatives like making the application process more inclusive, and ensuring preferred names are correctly reflected in our systems.
Our ERG's impact has gone beyond our local offices. We took PRIDE to our Bogota office, and the response was overwhelmingly positive. The team there has shown incredible support for each other, even inviting Drag Queens to perform at their hiring events - a celebration of diversity that transcends Pride Month.
In conclusion, Asurion's PRIDE ERG is more than just a group; it's a testament to our commitment to inclusivity, authenticity, and acceptance. It's a reminder that everyone is enough, just as they are.
