Every year, we celebrate the legacy of our beloved friend Chuck Stewart with the presentation of the Chuck Stewart Excellence in Leadership Award. Chuck Stewart, a cherished member of our Asurion family, was known for his contagious laughter, unparalleled leadership skills, and his unwavering dedication to mentoring others. A connoisseur of golf, fine wines, and world travel, Chuck embodied the spirit of "Stewart Strong" even after his cancer diagnosis in 2020. In honor and remembrance of Chuck and his indelible influence on Asurion, the Chuck Stewart Excellence in Leadership award was established in 2021. This prestigious accolade is bestowed upon the shining stars of Asurion who blaze trails and leave an unforgettable imprint on all of us.
By doing this, we're creating a culture where being the best is celebrated and inspires us all to aim high. Through honoring our amazing leaders, we're coming together with one goal in mind. It's all about what we can do when we work together, lifting each other up.
Qualities of Chuck Stewart Award recipients:
This year, of the eight finalists nominated by peers, three female leaders were awarded the Chuck Stewart award. Our 2024 winners are: Kelly Rosalia, Sr. Director, HR, Nikki Smith-Bartley, Vice President, Legal, and Renee Pace, Vice President, Legal.
We are very proud of all the nominees and winners. It’s no small feat to successfully lead teams while staying curious and striving to learn something new every day.
I am honored to receive the Chuck Stewart award. During my 17 years at Asurion, I had the privilege of working with legal and business team members that taught me the value of partnership and that working as one team is the only path to success. The mentorship and support I received over the years has helped me grow personally and professionally.
I believe that my desire to mentor others, advocate for diversity, equity and inclusion, serve as a champion for the underserved, and my commitment to doing the right thing, even when it’s hard or unpopular, is why I was nominated for the Chuck Stewart award. I had the opportunity to speak with Chuck’s wife and daughter after I received the award, and his wife said, “Chuck’s legacy lives on through people like you.” I am honored to be recognized as someone who is keeping his legacy alive.
Someone once asked me what my one word was for the year, and I realized that it was the word for my life – LOVE. If we lead our life from a place of love – loving our family, loving our neighbor, loving our differences and the learning that brings us, then that is a success. Just as important for me is Leading with Love at work. As I try to Lead with Love, my focus has been to work hard to inspire and push others to be their best, to listen to all viewpoints, to drive the right outcomes and to always do the right thing, especially when no one is watching. Love, which I define as true, genuine care and concern, is what matters. If we all truly care about our colleague, our team and the company, we can all win, and my job is done. Thank you Asurion, for all the opportunity you have given me to grow and hopefully, drive results from a place of love for this company!
