With a decade spent partnering across Asurion’s largest carrier accounts, Sarah Crumbaugh has become a bridge helping teams collaborate, move quickly, and deliver tech care to millions of customers.

Sarah Crumbaugh Asurion Partner Marketing Director

For anyone considering a career at Asurion, Sarah’s message is simple: “If you want variety, challenge, and the chance to make an impact, this is the place for you. You’ll work with great people, learn constantly, and have opportunities to grow.”

That belief comes from experience.

When Sarah joined Asurion, she had no idea that her career would include managing partnerships with some of the world’s largest wireless carriers — or that she’d eventually become the person her clients call not just for strategy, but sometimes for support, ideas, and the occasional end-of-day dog-walking chat.

What she did know from the very beginning was that she wanted a challenge. After finishing her MBA in Chicago and working in client-facing marketing roles, Sarah started looking for a place where she could stretch, grow, and build something meaningful. Asurion quickly rose to the top of that list.

Her interview is still one of her favorite stories: a canceled flight, a quick pivot, and a hiring leader who flew to Chicago the next day to meet her — in the middle of the Blackhawks Stanley Cup parade. “Definitely my most memorable interview,” she laughs.

Today, Sarah is Director of Partner Marketing for two keystone clients, AT&T North America and Cricket Wireless, helping bring Asurion’s products and protection services to millions of customers.

A career built on listening

Sarah’s career has taken her across several of Asurion’s largest carrier accounts. Each one brought different customer needs, business rhythms, and ways of working. Over time, that variety gave her what she describes as a “360° perspective” on how to support partners and the people they serve.

“Partnerships aren’t one-size-fits-all,” she explains. “Each client has their own culture and priorities, so success starts with listening and understanding what matters most to them.”

For Sarah, delivering great work comes down to something simple: making things easy for her partners. “Helping our day-to-day contacts achieve quick wins which deliver meaningful results to the client and their customers builds trust fast. That’s when the relationship really becomes collaborative.”

It’s this blend of empathy, problem-solving, and follow-through that has made Sarah a trusted bridge between Asurion and its carrier ecosystem. And it’s also what makes the work meaningful for her. “When we get that right, it feels like everyone wins,” she says.

Partner Marketing is more than just campaigns

People often assume Partner Marketing is all about creative assets and campaigns. Sarah’s experience tells a different story.

“A critical part of our role is building relationships and trust,” she says. “We spend a lot of time aligning goals, priorities, and finding creative ways to meet both Asurion’s and our clients’ objectives. It’s as much about diplomacy and collaboration as it is about marketing.”

Some days, that means being a sounding board. One of her closest client contacts calls her during end-of-day dog walks — informal conversations where breakthrough ideas often emerge. “It’s not a formal meeting, but sometimes those are the most productive.”

This is where Sarah shines: simplifying complexity, translating marketing concepts for non-marketing teams, and giving partners the tools they need to advocate for new ideas within their own organizations. “It’s marketing, but with a twist,” she says.

Impact you can feel—sometimes in real time

One moment that stands out for Sarah happened recently during a HomeTech Protection Tailgate at the client’s corporate headquarters.

“The event was designed to be interactive, educational, and fun — and it delivered on all fronts,” she says. “Employees were able to engage with our product hands-on, ask questions, and learn in a way that created real energy and brought the product to life.”

For Sarah, the impact wasn’t just about product awareness. It was about strengthening the relationships and momentum her team works so hard to build. “It brought visibility to the team we collaborate with every day. Seeing how it energized both internal support and external excitement — that was a proud moment.”

Growth in every direction

Looking back on her career, Sarah sees a throughline: continuous growth shaped by collaboration.

She credits Asurion’s culture for making that possible. “There’s a true team spirit here,” she says. “People rally regardless of title or role. That trust and willingness to jump in is what makes Asurion great.”

The work itself has evolved too. “We’ve become much more data-driven and digital-first,” she says. “We’re constantly finding new ways to meet customers where they are.”

And that customer connection is central to why her work matters. “Partner Marketing ensures that customers know about and can access the services that keep their devices — and their lives — running smoothly. Whether it’s scheduling a repair or setting up a smart home, we help make those connections possible.”

Advice for future teammates

After ten years of growth, Sarah still feels energized by the work — and the people she gets to work with. It’s why she has stayed to build a career here, and why she still looks forward to what’s next.
