This summer, Asurion employees stepped away from their day jobs to build homes, pack school supplies, donate blood, and support nonprofit organizations across Nashville and Houston.

Over 12 weeks, they partnered with 16 nonprofit organizations through the 2026 Asurion Gives Back campaign, volunteering at 26 events and donation drives. Together, employees contributed 760 volunteer hours—nearly 19 full-time work weeks dedicated to giving back.

The work spanned all four community impact areas: Youth Education, Disaster Relief, Underserved Communities, and Military Families. While every event looked different, each one offered employees an opportunity to help the communities they call home.

Supporting students before the school year began

As the new school year approached, many volunteer efforts focused on helping students, teachers, and schools prepare for the months ahead.

Employees packed school supplies through United Way's Stuff the Bus, assembled teacher supply bags with PENCIL, helped prepare classrooms at KIPP Nashville, and supported Houston Children's Charity's Back2School event. Others volunteered with the Houston Library Foundation, Boys & Girls Club Nashville, and Year Up United, supporting literacy, youth programs, and career readiness.

The campaign also included a company-wide Teach for America Teacher Kit Drive, where employees assembled more than 70 teacher kits for educators serving classrooms across Nashville and Chattanooga during the 2026–27 school year.

Together, more than 100 employees took part in back-to-school initiatives throughout the summer.

Showing up when communities need it most

Other volunteer events focused on disaster relief and emergency preparedness.

At the American Red Cross Blood Drive, employees donated 38 units of blood—enough to potentially help save 114 lives.

Later in the summer, 66 employees completed hands-only CPR training with the American Heart Association, learning a lifesaving skill they can now carry into their homes, workplaces, and communities.

Employees also partnered with Project CURE, preparing donated medical supplies for shipment to hospitals in Colombia and Venezuela and extending the campaign's impact well beyond the cities where employees volunteered.

Supporting local communities

Throughout the campaign, employees volunteered with organizations focused on food security, affordable housing, and community support.

Volunteers spent a full day building homes with Habitat for Humanity Nashville, contributing the campaign's largest single-day volunteer effort with 160 volunteer hours.

Others packed groceries at The Store, assembled welcome bags and planters at Our Place Nashville, helped provide beds for children through Houston Children's Charity's A Better Night's Sleep program, and donated hundreds of clothing and household items to Oasis Youth Center.

Several organizations welcomed Asurion volunteers multiple times throughout the summer, allowing employees to build lasting partnerships with local nonprofits and support their work beyond a single volunteer event.

By the numbers

Across Nashville and Houston, employees contributed:

26 volunteer events and donation drives
316 volunteer participations
760 volunteer hours
Partnerships with 16 nonprofit organizations
Volunteer efforts across all four of Asurion’s giving pillars: Youth Education, Disaster Relief, Underserved Communities, and Military Families

Looking beyond the summer

The Summer of Service campaign wrapped up in September, but the season's volunteer efforts reached far beyond a single event—from classrooms preparing for a new school year to hospitals receiving critical medical supplies, neighborhoods gaining affordable housing, and communities supported through local nonprofit organizations.
