Last month you learned about how employee resource group BEST is determined to provide skills pathways and networking opportunities for Black employees within. This month we are diving into the ERG that elevates women within Asurion.

EWTWIN3

The second stop on our ERG World Tour is WIN - Asurion’s Women's Initiative Network (WIN) employee resource group. The largest of our eleven employee-run ERGs, WIN, has nearly 3,000 members and allies with 18 chapters across the world. At Asurion, we believe that everyone deserves equal treatment, and we are committed to making people feel accepted, valued, and respected in the workplace.

Born out of the opportunity to drive networking opportunities for women across the globe, WIN empowers women, and ensures they have a seat at the table. At their heart, they are a safe place for women and allies to have uncomfortable conversations and provide resources for women to be their best selves in our workplace.

Lauren Stephens Brown, Product Manager, and co-chair of WIN attributes her career journey at Asurion to the successful networking opportunities provided by WIN. Lauren said WIN was a “vehicle of success for [her] career, introducing [her] to numerous women and men in our tech & product space that [she] would not have otherwise met.”

Unsurprisingly and backed by the U.S. Labor Department of Labor Statistics, 70% of mothers with children under the age of 18 participate in the workforce – with 75% of those mothers holding full-time jobs. One of the more recent and successful initiatives that WIN led was introducing a new pillar solely dedicated to parents, Parents in Partnership. Time and time again we are reminded of the power of conversation – merely giving parents, and specifically mothers the platform to discuss the everyday challenges of being a working mother has had a profound impact on how we as an organization can best support them in their career with Asurion. And not only that, but WIN’s parent in partnership’s round table discussions help leaders within Asurion deliver on their promise to make work-life balance a reality, not just a dream.

From fostering career development for our women employees, to giving employees a safe space to share their experiences, WIN has certainly been a “vehicle for success” for many women employees. Even more so, WIN has had a significant impact on how we recruit and retain talent at Asurion, too. For new employees coming into the organization, WIN gives them an opportunity to meet someone new that supports your situation – no matter what that is.

Going forward, WIN is dedicated to always giving women a seat at the table. And as an organization, we are proud to be a part of their journey. If you are interested in building your career at Asurion and joining WIN, check out our  open roles today.
