Asurion Celebrates National Apprenticeship Week
Asurion’s growing apprenticeship program is now in its second year. To celebrate National Apprenticeship Week, we’re showcasing our current cohort of Software Engineering Apprentices.
The Asurion Software Engineering Apprenticeship program provides current employees a direct pathway to transition into a new career as a software engineer within Asurion.
“[Asurion] truly is the best place to work. I see so much professional growth potential by learning software engineering skills as an apprentice and being a contributor to the company in this way,” said Chelsea H., 2021 apprentice.
Meet the 2021 Apprentices
In September 2021, nine Asurion employees began the next step in their journeys to becoming software engineers.

Asurion’s apprenticeship is a 12-month program with a 3-step approach. This cohort will run from September 2021 to September 2022 and consist of technical training, hands-on work experience and direct guidance from mentors, peers and leaders.
Upon graduation in the fall of 2022, apprentices will receive offers to become associate software engineers.
Launching a legacy
At its launch in the spring of 2020, Asurion’s Software Engineer Apprenticeship program was the first in-house apprenticeship for software engineers in Tennessee and the first state-certified apprenticeship program at Asurion.
The program’s success is driving new apprenticeship programs at Asurion, including a design apprenticeship program now preparing to launch.
